Pera Palace Hotel and Tiyatrose proudly present Anton Chekhov’s timeless masterpiece “The  Cherry Orchard”, performed in its original Russian language for the first time on May 31, 2025.
With its historic atmosphere and passion for the arts, Pera Palace Hotel brings together culture  and theatre lovers for this special premiere performance at the Grand Pera Ballroom.

The collapse of a family, the end of an era…

Having lived in Paris for many years, Lubov Andreyevna returns to Russia after being betrayed by  her lover and burdened with debts. Her family estate, along with the cherished cherry orchard, is  to be auctioned to pay off what is owed. Lopakhin, once the son of a poor peasant who worked  on the estate, has risen to wealth as a merchant. While Lubov and her brother search for ways to  save their home from being sold, Lopakhin proposes a solution: cutting down the cherry orchard  and leasing the land for summer cottages, a suggestion they firmly reject. In the end, the estate  is sold, and Lopakhin becomes its new owner.

A reflection on emotional turmoil, contradictions, miscommunication, and the futility of life… Originally written as a comedy by Anton Pavlovich Chekhov, The Cherry Orchard has found its  place in world theatre literature as a poignant drama.

In this original language performance, all characters are brought to life by Dilfuza Rozyyeva.
