“The Master’s Hands: Artists Who Passed Through Neşet Günal’s Studio” Exhibition at Pera Palace

Pera Palace Hotel is pleased to host a distinguished exhibition bringing together some of the most prominent figures of Turkish painting at the Galata Exhibition Hall. Curated from the Demsa Collection, The Master’s Hands: Artists Who Passed Through Neşet Günal’s Studio” explores not only the profound influence of a master artist on his students, but also the evolution of figurative painting in Türkiye over the past half century.

Featuring works by artists whose paths crossed in Neşet Günal’s studio, the exhibition reflects a shared discipline of seeing, thinking, and artistic production rather than a unified stylistic approach. Neşet Günal, who began his studies at the Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts in 1939 and mentored numerous artists between 1964 and 1983, left a lasting impact on generations of painters.

The exhibition includes works by Neşet Günal, Ahmet Umur Deniz, Asım İşler, Artin Demirci, Aydın Ayan, Cansen Ercan, Emel Şahinkaya (Günsür), Cemal Gürsel Soyel, Cihat Aral, Fahri Sümer, Hüsnü Koldaş, İnci Eviner, İrfan Okan, İrfan Önürmen, Kasım Koçak, Kemal İskender, Mahir Güven, Mehmet Güleryüz, Nedret Sekban, Neş’e Erdok, Nevhiz Tanyeli, Resul Aytemür, Sabahattin Tuncer, Serap Murathanoğlu Eyrenci, Sezai Özdemir and Şenol Yorozlu.

“The Master’s Hands: Artists Who Passed Through Neşet Günal’s Studio” will be on view at the Galata Exhibition Hall from 12 June to 31 July 2026. The exhibition may be visited Monday through Sunday, except Mondays, between 10:00 and 18:00.

The opening reception will take place on Friday, 12 June 2026, from 18:30 to 21:00.
