Pera Palace Hotel<\/a><\/strong>, which has witnessed history for more than a century in the most beautiful corner of Istanbul, has hosted many notable names from the past to the present. Famous guests of the hotel include many prominent names from Agatha Christie<\/a><\/strong> to Ernest Hemingway; from Iranian Shah R\u0131za Pehlevi to American First Lady Jacquelin Kennedy. However, there is such a name that his place in Turkish people’s hearts is indisputable! Of course, we are talking about Mustafa Kemal Atat\u00fcrk<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"Ataturk-Museum-Room\"<\/p>\n

Mustafa Kemal Atat\u00fcrk, one of the greatest leaders of the 20th century, when he signed Pera Palace Hotel memorial book, the year was 1917. He stayed at the hotel several times between 1917-1936.\u00a0 Sometimes he preferred Pera Palace Hotel to take the most critical decisions about the country and sometimes to welcome his important guests. His visits were often in Room 101.<\/p>\n

\"Ataturk-Museum-Room\"<\/p>\n

There is a fascinating anecdote from the times Atat\u00fcrk stayed in room 101 in Pera Palace Hotel. According to the story; Before the Turkish Independence War, while Istanbul was under occupation, Atat\u00fcrk revisited Pera Palace Hotel. His entrance to the hotel hall with his grandeur created great enthusiasm among the guests. Amongst those who were thrilled by this excitement were commanders of the occupation forces! The commanders of the occupation forces who noticed Atat\u00fcrk wanted to invite him to their tables. Mustafa Kemal Atat\u00fcrk, who was notified about this invite, declared the following sentences at Pera Palace Hotel:<\/p>\n

“Although it may seem like the holder of Istanbul are them, they will soon go. Therefore they are guests here. In our culture guests are always welcomed. So if they so desire, they can come to my table!”<\/em><\/p>\n

\"Ataturk-Suite\"<\/p>\n

Atat\u00fcrk had again answered to this offer with his quick intelligence. Here is the room number 101, witnessed the precious moments of Atat\u00fcrk and used it as a home on the returns from the front-line, was converted into a museum room in the 100th anniversary of his birth, to preserve his memory forever.<\/p>\n

\"Ataturk-Museum-Room-\"<\/p>\n

The place, which was turned into a museum room in 1981, was renovated with the sunrise color, dawn pink, which is the favorite color of Mustafa Kemal Atat\u00fcrk. In addition to his personal belongings, the room also decorated with the precious Atat\u00fcrk books, magazines, photographs, postcards, and medals, all of which were collected from various auctions.<\/p>\n
